Day 1...
Awesome or as Jayne likes to exclaim when she sees something she likes, "WOW!"...eyes as big as saucers and mouth open in shock. Many things make Jayne exclaim "WOW!"...tunnels we are driving through, buildings, dogs and so on.
Many things Jayne does make this ma ma and ba ba say..."WOW!"
Jayne slept very well between both ma ma and ba ba...unfortunately ma ma and ba ba's clocks are not completely switched around yet, so when we got up at 4:30 am, Jayne followed shortly after. We will not be making that mistake tomorrow morning. Fortunately a lack of sleep did not slow Jayne's spunk for the day.
Today was a big day of paperwork...adoption registration (Jayne is officially stuck with us), passport photo, visa photo, notary office and so on and so forth. Jayne was applying for homecoming queen at all outings...she was super loud, super animated, was taking pictures of all of her new "friends" (ie: anyone that would pose) and discovered she could watch old videos of CLM and B on the video camera...she was darn near rolling on the ground laughing at her siblings and she insisted everyone in every building enjoy watching her siblings also. It was such a HOOT!
Jayne's favorite things...kindle fire puzzle game, drawing game on DSI, light up spinning toy (thanks GG and DD), etch a sketch, coloring, drawing and writing, her camera (of note, no event is off limits even if you are showering...EEK!), high fives, low fives, thumbs up, brushing her teeth WITH her princess toothpaste (is brushing 10 times a day excessive???), tub time, dancing, reciting poems (our rep says she is saying children's poems), stretching (I don't think all the stretching in the world could make me 1/4 as flexible as she is) and chewing gum (yep, in less than 24 hours she has found mom's gum...who will be most thrilled about this gum love, Bumpa, Gamma or Brynn???)
Jayne's not so favorite things...nap time and changing clothes, but she redirects beautifully.
Jayne's MOST favorite things are her ge ge's (Caleb and Luke), her di di (Mark) and her mei mei (Brynn)...we have gone thru her picture books MANY times and she knows exactly who is who. And guess what Caleb and Luke...she LOVES the butterflies you drew for her! And Mark she can't wait to play soccer with you...she saw the soccer ball you drew for her and then she started kicking toys as if they were a soccer ball!
Sweet dreams from China!
It makes me so happy to read your blog and know that Jayne is with you! Simply wonderful. Enjoy every precious moment. We look forward to seeing you all when you get home and the time is right.
