1) Bison win the national championship…surprise!
2) We head down to the lobby of our Beijing hotel at 5:30 this morning, for our Beijing guide to say, “You are the only ones going to Nanchang.” What?!* Last time our whole travel group went to the same capital city to adopt children all from the same province, but not this time…surprise!
3) After a breakfast of Haagen-Daz ice cream and coke at the airport, we were pumped to have plain yogurt in our airplane meal. Chris took 3-4 bites. I said, “How is it?” He said, “It’s all right, when is the last time you’ve had plain yogurt?” I took one bite and said, “It’s sour cream!”…surprise!
4) Our flight was uneventful. I discovered I am not half bad at Angry Birds…the boys are going to be proud at the way I can launch a bird or two J! We got our baggage, and found our CCAI representative, Evelyn, with no problems. After a little chit chat, she said, “So your child will be here at 3:30.” We said, “TODAY?!*” She said, “Yes!”…NOW THAT IS A SURPRISE!
The Yokom girls are never on time…we prefer to call it fashionably late. Jayne kept true to this trait as traffic was bad so she arrived at 4:10. They brought Jayne right to our room. She was carrying a picture photo book we had mailed her. She was pleasant, and showed us her big brothers, little brother, little sister, ma ma and ba ba in her book. She then saw the spread of toys and goodies we had prepared for her, and she started playing with ma ma and ba ba. And that is all she wrote. We have had no issues…unless the fact that her foster mother claimed this very morning that Jayne is introverted, shy and obedient cuz she is none of the 3 and that means she is a PERFECT fit for our house! In the 5 hours we have had Jayne she has shown us that she can march, sing, dance, do the splits, trace letters (Mark you better practice, sister is a Pro!), write pinyin (her fine motor skills are quite something!), draw (sunshine, fish, heart, faces), touch every button in the room (light switches, phones, remotes) and then retouch them after you say “no” with a big grin on her face, play a kindle fire and an ipad (boys you better get ready, Jayne appears to have some serious gaming skills), put puzzles together, accessorize (hair bows and headbands, jewelry), make a hurricane out of a tub (and I thought Brynn and Mark were splashy), crinkle her nose when she smiles, and belly laugh til she is rolling on the floor with the fun.
The only time she has been upset is when I took off the FOUR layers of shirts and the THREE layers of pants she had on…side note, we have hid these clothes J. The anger she felt about stripping down was replaced in a moment by tub time.
And she looks absolutely adorable in her new jammies!
I don’t know how this can happen to us twice in a row, but it appears we got ANOTHER perfect match!!! Our house is full, our hearts are content…lucky are we to call Jayne Li Min ours and lucky are we to have a handful of kids for lovin’.
Jayne is absolutely adorable. It appears she is indeed the perfect match. I love her cute pajamas and hair flowers. I can see her artistic talent that is displayed on the Magna-Doodle. We are excited to meet her. The Bednars
