Yep, we are BEYOND pumped to be heading back to China for another blessing!
An Li Min was born March 31, 2006. We met (thru pictures) An Li Min for the first time on April 7th, 2011. We fell head over heels for her when we received a call from CCAI in between a 6am shift at the hospital and Luke's 7 year old swimming kid birthday party. AKA hardly a moment in the day to spare, and we did not need any more time to decide that An Li Min was ours!
When we asked the kids if they wanted another sister, they all stayed true to their characters:
- Caleb instantly said "YES!"
- Luke agreed after concluding that his bedroom would have to be moved to the basement...he would call it a man cave bedroom, and this man cave would come WITH a TV.
- Brynn smiled (an obvious sign that she agreed)
- Mark said nothing, but when we got out of the car he shouted from our driveway at the top of his lungs, "We are getting anover sister!!!"
Dad was so excited he instantly started scanning a 3 state radius looking for an all wheel drive conversion van. He would email Mom "options"...Mom would ask, "Does the track team come WITH the van?" and "Would you have to stop at railroad crossings?" Dad even went as far as detouring through car lots to show Mom the perfect vans. When Mom asked the sales person, "Who was the previous owner?" Each and every time the sales person would say, "It was a hotel shuttle."
Other than car shopping, we also started brainstorming names for An Li Min. All potential names had to be cleared by Caleb and Luke, and let me just say that they can come up with an unappealing nickname in no time flat for just about EVERY name. So after many hours, I mean days, I mean weeks of searching, we all decided on,
~~Jayne Li Min~~
Jayne's paperwork claims she is quiet and lovely; a quiet Yokom kid?!* Should we take bets on how long Jayne stays "quiet" when she lives in the circus known as our house :) Jayne's paperwork also states that she gets along harmoniously with other children. Time will tell, but we know for sure that Jayne was meant for us and we were meant for Jayne!
Jayne is currently in foster care provided by the Pingxiang orphanage, Jiangxi province, China. We are sooooooo thankful for Jayne's foster mother, and we are hopeful that the mourning Jayne and her will feel will be eased by the pure joy of our whole family cuz we are TICKLED PINK to call Jayne ours!
We are coming Jayne...we leave January 6th at 6 am! GOTCHA DAY is January 9th, sooooooo this dad and mom officially have FIVE most favorite days EVER (11/8 Caleb bday, 4/6 Luke bday, 6/5 Mark bday, 4/26 Brynn GOTCHA, 1/9 Jayne GOTCHA)!!!
Lucky are we to be adding Jayne to our crew, and lucky are we to call this handful of kids OURS!
Love, Dad and Mom Yokom
